One thing I have noticed in my career is that if people would take a moment to actually listen to what others say they will prove to be more effective. Once you have listened, then take the time to develop your response. By doing this two step process, you will demonstrate better communication skills. If you are too focused on forming a response or an objection when someone is speaking, and not listening – then things often get lost in translation. Listen to understand first and foremost. Then respond.

In my opinion, this book will provide you with a “how to” overcome some of these barriers (not actively listening) that could be sabotaging your daily interactions in life – at home and at work.
