As we go through the Career Discovery, which is a component of the Road Map Series, ReRouting’s goal is to help you create a plan and a path forward to help you find the career you want. At the end of this webinar you will have set both short and long-term goals. Goals that you can work on now that will help set you up for your future…. and you’ll begin building a career plan – a written one.
Job Searching 101
As we go through Job Searching 101, we will outline what job searching is all about by providing you with information and tools to help you plan and organize your job search. By the end of Job Searching 101 you should be able to 1. know how to find job leads; 2. understand typical recruitment processes within organizations, 3. look at a job description and break them down to understand the different components and whether or not you qualify for a job; 4. integrate keywords related to your interests and hobbies to expand your job search; and 5. establish a tracking system for managing your applications.
Preparing Your Job Search Marketing Materials
In Preparing Your Marketing Materials we are going to take your interests, characteristics, and what it is you are looking for in a career – to build your resume and align your candidate profiles. You are going to learn how to prepare your elevator speech, so you are more confident in talking about your objectives. By the end of this webinar you should have an awesome resume that you can quickly tailor to each job you are applying for, candidate profiles that will have recruiters intrigued, and you’ll know how to create a cover letter when an employer requests one! And, lastly… a well constructed elevator speech to approach recruiters and other professionals. Templates and links to additional resources are included in this webinar.

As we go through Mastering the Interview Process I will guide you through interview processes, the most used interviewing methods – informational, situational, and behavioural based interviews, how to manage interview nerves, what you should bring to an interview, what questions to ask at the end of an interview and ones you should avoid. We will also discuss a list of my random pointers! By the end of this webinar, you should have a strong foundation of knowledge about interviews and the processes that go along with them.
